Auxiliary Board To Resume Regular Meetings

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary will resume its regular meetings in September after the summer recess. The auxiliary board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room. The auxiliary meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12. Greeters are Mary Alonge and Lyn Spencer. Helpers are Connie Whitman and Nancy Rasmussen. Refreshments will be served by Karen Carlson and Wanda McKotch.

Historical Society to Host Guest Speaker

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Historical Society will host guest speaker Laura Fitzgerald at its meeting at 6 p.m. today in the Randolph Municipal Building, 72 Main St., Randolph. Her program centers on the stories cemeteries reveal, including people’s occupations, hobbies, age, and era in which they lived and died. Fitzgerald will share examples of unique stones from Western New York and beyond. Fitzgerald worked for Buffalo’s Forest Lawn Cemetery, serving as the director of interpretive programming and volunteer  coordinator for three years. After earning a bachelor of arts degree in broadcasting from Buffalo State College, she assisted in  several locally themed productions at Buffalo Toronto Public Media, including Buffalo’s Houses of Worship and Polonia.

Sewer Meeting Set For Thursday

The administrative board of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at noon Thursday at the water pollution control facility. Those interested in joining the meeting by video conference can call 646-558-8656 with the meeting ID 999-449-0210.

Depot Part Of Amish Crawl Event

SOUTH DAYTON — Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., attendees can tour the South Dayton Depot as part of the Amish Crawl.

From 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. the Depot is highlighting former Mayor Larry Zollinger. He will share stories and events from early railroad days as well as from early South Dayton times. Check out the freight room’s original 1875 walls and floor. Take pictures of the Robert Redford Ticket window. Enjoy former Station Agent William Neubeck’s career memorabilia from 1948 to 1980. Marco Polo Club To Hold Spaghetti Dinner

The Marco Polo Club will be holding an in-club, sit-down spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Salad inclusion based on availability. Take-out dinners will be available. The drive-through will not be available.

Randolph Church To Host Rally Day

RANDOLPH — East Randolph Methodist Church, 122 Church St., East Randolph, will be having a Rally Day on Sunday, Sept. 10. At 9 a.m., there will be family fun activities and classes for all ages. Weather permitting, worship will be held at 10:15 a.m. in the pavilion, followed by a dish to pass lunch. In case of rain, everything will be held inside. All are welcome to attend.
