Picnic In The Park Event Canceled

Fentonville and Wheeler Hill churches’ Picnic in the Park event for Saturday is canceled until further notice.

Concert Series Continues Saturdays

BUSTI — The Busti Gazebo concert will present the Busti Church of God Worship Team Hymn Sing on Saturday. The concert begins at 6:30 p.m. and runs until 8:30 p.m. The event is sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association and the Chautauqua Region Community Foundation.

Verterans Club To Host Chicken BBQ

The ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown, will serve its signature chicken barbecue Sunday beginning at noon and available until sold out. Dinners will include a half chicken, applesauce and a roll. Sides include a choice of roasted potatoes, macaroni salad or baked beans. The cost for a full dinner is $14 and chicken only is $10. Proceeds support service programs sponsored by the Sons of AMVETs and the AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary.

Pickut To Speak As Part Of Author Series

Walt Pickut is making a return visit to Hazeltine Public Library on Monday as part of its weekly author series. Pickut, a freelance writer and former editor of the Jamestown Gazette, has written a true spy story “The First Counterspy,” with a local connection. The 6:30 p.m. author series are free and held in the Community Building behind the library, 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road, Jamestown.

Randolph School Board Meets Sept. 6

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 6, in the high school library. The meeting will start with a public hearing for proposed amendments to the student Code of Conduct. The public is welcome to attend. History Fair To Include Karaoke Contest

SINCLAIRVILLE — A karaoke contest will be held at the Sinclairville History Fair to be held on Saturday, Sept. 9. The contest runs from 3-5 p.m. and will be held in the bandstand in Minckler Common. The contest is limited to the first 20 applicants and cash prizes totaling $300 will be paid to the winners. To register for the contest, call 716-673-5526.
