The Falconer Public Library Will Close At Noon Today

FALCONER — The Falconer Public Library will be closing at noon today to prepare for its 75th annual book sale. The sale will include a large selection of fiction, non-fiction, young adult, juvenile and children’s books as well as DVDs, CDs and puzzles. The annual book sale is the library’s only fundraiser and all proceeds will go toward the purchase of new materials for the library. The library is located at 101 W. Main St., Falconer. For questions or more information call 716-665-3504. Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday (bag sale) and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.

Summer Reading Show To Be Presented At Fire Hall

The Mike Randall & Friends Summer Reading Show will be presented at the Fluvanna Fire Hall on Friday at 11 a.m. According to Randall, the program includes puppets, magic, ventriloquism, audience participation and family fun. Lynn Grundstrom, Fluvanna Library Director said, “Mr. Randall’s show called ‘Summer Reading Show’, is 45 minutes of entertainment, education, and fun that will leave audiences wanting more.” Randall has performed at festivals and events throughout Western New York and Canada. The event will be held at the Fluvanna Fire Hall, 3536 Fluvanna Ave., next to the library. The program is open to the public and free of charge (though donations are accepted), and is offered in conjunction with Fluvanna Free Library’s Summer Reading Program, with the theme All Together Now. Sons Of The American Revolution To Meet

The Sons of the American Revolution will meet at the Stockton Hotel on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. The meeting will be a fellowship meeting with no planned program. Anyone wishing to present a short program may do so. Members will order lunch from the menu. Anyone interested in the war for independence is invited to attend.

Spaghetti Dinner Set For This Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will be holding an in-club, sit-down, spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $12 for adults and $7 for children. Salad inclusion based on availability. Take-out dinners will be available. Drive-through orders are not available.

Chautauqua County Ethics Board Meeting Set For Aug. 16

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will be holding a meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 16, at 2 p.m. in Room 331 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St., Mayville.
