Dedication
Sunday For New Ball Field Name
CASSADAGA — On Sunday, June 25, immediately following the Pedro and the Smooth Cats concert on the Cassadaga Floating Stage, there will be a dedication of the newly named ball fields in Cassadaga “Johnny Fesenden Ball Fields.”
The ball fields have been named in Fesenden’s memory as he is remembered for teaching Cassadaga youth baseball fundamentals for many years. He secured funding for the Little League teams year after year. He was a proud World War II and Korean War Army veteran, a member and past Commander at American Legion Post 1280. He was an active member of the Cassadaga Community Baptist Church and Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department. As a licensed electrician, he was a mentor for area young men training in this field. He was a merit badge counselor for the Boy Scouts and volunteered with projects at Camp Gross. He will always be remembered for his generosity, energy and quick smile.
All are invited to this dedication which will take place at 7:15 p.m. at the new ball field sign on Maple Avenue, adjacent to the cemetery. There will be refreshments across the street at the American Legion Post 1280 immediately following (approximately 7:30 p.m.) All are invited.
