Auxiliary To Host Annual Summer Picnic
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary will hold a chicken barbecue on the patio at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 13. The event is for auxiliary members and their plus one at the cost of $15 per person. Dinner will consist of a half chicken by 3Cs catering, macaroni salad, tossed salad, a roll and a brownie for dessert. Entertainment will be Pat Cook. Paid reservations must be made by June 1. Contact Connie Whitman at 716-763-0544. In addition to the 50/50 tickets, the auxiliary will have $1 tickets for door prizes. The auxiliary board will meet at 6:30 p.m. June 8 in the board room.
Mayville Senior Citizens To Meet Thursday
MAYVILLE — The Mayville Senior Citizens will play miniature golf Thursday at Webb’s Captain Table after a pot luck luncheon at the VFW in Mayville at noon. Those who attend are asked to bring a dish to pass.
Hazeltine Public Library Invites Area Residents To Book Talks
BUSTI — Area residents are invited to the Hazeltine Public Library on Thursday for the first in the series of local author book talks. Walt Pickut, a New Jersey native who now lives in the Jamestown area, will talk about his experiences writing memoirs and World War II nonfiction. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be held in the Community Building at the Hazeltine Library, 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road. There is no charge and no reservations are required. Jamestown BPU Yard Waste Site Closed Saturday, June 3
Due to the change in the Jamestown Board of Public Utilities garbage/recycling schedule for Memorial Day, the BPU Yard Waste Site will be closed on Saturday. Regular hours at the site resume from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 7, and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, June 10. The site is open this week from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 31. The Memorial Day holiday moved Monday solid waste collections until Tuesday, Tuesday to Wednesday, Wednesday to Thursday, Thursday to Friday and Friday to Saturday. Garbage/solid waste employee curbside collections on Saturday preclude the ability to staff the yard waste site that day.
Fenton History
Center To Host German Research Program
The Fenton History Center will present a program on German research by Katherine Schober, a nationally known expert on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Hall House Research Library.
