Library To Host Journaling

Workshop

BUSTI — Space remains for the journaling workshop to be held Thursday at the Hazeltine Public Library. Local author Sally Ferguson will lead the free workshop and share her tips and techniques for successful journaling. Materials will be provided so reservations are requested and can be made by calling 716-487-1281 or visiting the library. Class begins at 6:30 p.m. at the library, 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road. The library has an adjacent parking lot and is handicap accessible.

Falconer Village Board Meets Monday

FALCONER — The Falconer Village Board will meet at 6 p.m. Monday, May 8, in the fire exempts hall, 3 Coleson Dr.

Sherman Central School Board Meeting Set

SHERMAN — The Sherman Central School Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, for its regular monthly meeting, followed immediately after at 6 p.m. for the annual budget hearing. The meeting and hearing will be held in-person in the school’s auditorium. Members of the public are encouraged to attend. It is required that all in attendance must observe social distancing. While facial coverings are not required they are recommended.

Ross Grange Members To Gather May 8

FALCONER — Ross Grange will meet Monday, May 8, at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer for a dish to pass lunch at 12:30 p.m. Beverages and place settings will be furnished. Helen Peterson, a retired high school librarian, will speak on “Chautauqua County Libraries Road Trip Reflections.” Those attending should bring suggestions for a theme for the Grange booth at the Chautauqua County Fair. All interested are invited to attend.

Libraries To Hold Public Forums

ELLERY — Bemus Point School District will have a proposition on the school budget ballot for library funding for the Bemus Point and Fluvanna Free libraries. The libraries will be hosting public forums to give information and answer any questions about the vote at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Bemus Point Library and 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the Fluvanna Free Library on Wednesday, May 10. The school budget vote will be May 16 in the Maple Grove Junior-Senior High School.

Donations Needed For Historical Society Sale

BLOCKVILLE — Donations are needed for the annual Harmony Historical Society spring yard sale to be held May 13. Items can be dropped off Tuesdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the society’s headquarters on Blockville Open Meadows Road, Blockville, or by calling 716-782-3074 to make arrangements.

Randolph School Board To Meet

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Central School Board will hold a public budget hearing at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, in the high school library. The public is welcome to attend. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Maureen Pitts, district clerk, at 716-358-7005 or mpitts@randolphcsd.org. A regular school board meeting will follow the hearing.
