LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library welcomes a new acrylic painting exhibition by local artist James Vincent entitled ‘People and Places.’ “I like to do paintings of people and places, with emphasis on light and shadows, especially with reference to how it reacts to the human form and inorganic objects. An opening reception is planned for Friday, May 5, from 4 to 6 p.m. The public is invited to come meet the artist and celebrate his art. Vincent’s paintings will be on view through the month of May. The Lakewood Memorial Library is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Vincent graduated from Buffalo State Teachers’ College with a masters degree in art education. He taught high school art classes for 32 years before retiring in 2008.
