Blood Drive Set For Tuesday
Community Blood Bank will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon on Tuesday at UPMC Chautauqua, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. To schedule an appointment, call 814-456-4206. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait times but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows.
Mobile Pantry Truck To Be In Ashville
ASHVILLE — The Feed More of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Falconer will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to noon and 3-5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, only proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Ellicott To Hold Special Meeting
The Ellicott Town Board will hold a special meeting at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 27, in the administrative building. The meeting will be to set a public hearing date for a bond resolution regarding the water tank rehabilitation.
Serendipity Concert To Be Held Saturday
Director Sue Huther and members Leslie Hallock, Lauren Hiller, Marci Johnson, Cyndi Lorenc, Danica Olson, Lissa VanDewark and Carolyn Whitehead invite the public to a Serendipity Concert being held Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. at Christ First United Methodist Church. Admission is free. There will be a freewill offering that will benefit the YWCA for its support of issues affecting women and children in the community.
Authors Plan Library Discussion
On Saturday, April 29, area authors Nolan Emerson and Jared Drocy will be speaking in the Fireplace Room at Prendergast Library from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. to discuss their debut book, “Shadyside,” a horror novel that takes place in the Lakewood-Jamestown area. They will take participants through the process of how they wrote this homage to their hometown. Emerson and Drocy will read a snippet from Shadyside as well as a question-and-answer session. Signed copies will be for sale before and after the presentation.
