Friday Family Swim at Southwestern Elementary School is canceled for Friday, March 31.

Pastor To Be Guest Speaker

The Rev. Robert Allport-Cohoon, pastor at Bethel Lutheran, will be the guest speaker at the midweek noon-time Lenten Service at the First Lutheran Church today. The Lenten services are sponsored by the Southwestern Conference Lutherans and will be held in the Memorial Chapel which is handicap accessible. The 12 p.m. service will be followed by a soup, salad, and pie luncheon in the church parlors for a nominal fee. The luncheon is sponsored by the First Lutheran Altar Society. The public is welcome to attend.

Sons Of The American Revolution To Meet Saturday

The Chautauqua Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will meet Saturday at the Stockton Hotel at 12:30 p.m. Members will order lunch from the menu. GERRY — The town of Gerry will hold an Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. Saturday for all of town residents at the Gerry Rodeo Grounds.

Miss Busti Bicentennial Queen Contest Announced

The town of Busti, Busti and Lakewood fire departments, and Busti Fire Department Auxiliary are sponsoring a Miss Busti Bicentennial Queen Contest on Friday, April 14, at 7 p.m. at the Busti Fire Hall. A $1,000 scholarship has been donated by Cummins Engine Company. The contestant must reside in the town of Busti and be a junior or senior in high school. The queen will be representing the town of Busti; Busti and Lakewood fire departments and the Busti Fire Department Auxiliary throughout the year starting on April 16 with the bicentennial kick-off celebration at the Lakewood Rod and Gun Club. She will also be representing the town in the Memorial Day parades on May 29 and the ending bicentennial parade on Sept. 23, as well as other events held during the year. Applications for Queen can be found at townofbusti.com, or on the Busti Fire Department or Busti Fire Department Auxiliary Facebook pages and should include a photo and essay about “What Being the Queen of the Busti Bi-Centennial Means to Me.” Applications must be received by April 10, 2023 and can be mailed to Busti Fire Dept.
