City Council To Meet Tonight

The City Council will meet tonight at 7:30 in the Council Chambers at City Hall for its monthly voting session. The Council is expected to vote on a resolution that would approve the Jamestown Local Development Corporation to grant the Chautauqua Watershed Conservancy $327,925 for the Chadakoin River project. The council will vote on two resolutions that would allow for the hiring of eight fire fighters under the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response grant and five fire fighters under the 2023 city budget. The City Council is also expected to vote on a local law that would amend the City Charter to change the salary of elected officials. The public is welcome to attend.

School Board Meeting Set

The Jamestown Public Schools Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday in the board room in the administration building, 197 Martin Road, Jamestown. The public is welcome to attend.

Warren Group To Hold Potluck Dinner

WARREN, Pa. — The Warren Vegans and Vegetarians will hold a potluck dinner at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, at the Crary Art Gallery, 511 Market St., Warren. All are welcome, including families. Reservations are required and may be made by email to dreed107@verizon.net, by April 5. Participants are asked to bring a large, vegan dish (no meat, cheese, or dairy) and indicate what category of food — appetizer, soup, salad, entree, or dessert — they plan to bring. Those attending are asked to bring a copy of the recipe and their own reusable table service and cups. Water will be available or those attending may bring their own beverage. Five Hour Driving Course Offered

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School on Monday, April 17, from 5  to 10 p.m. The cost is $30. Pre-register by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org ­ include a picture of the student’s learner’s permit, or by calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, make sure to have a learner’s permit on hand.

Churches To Host April Dinner

Fentonville and Wheeler Hill United Methodist churches will be selling tickets for a fundraiser dinner to be held from 4:30-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 20, and catered by 3 C’s Catering. Attendees can dine in at the Falcon’s Nest, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer. Take-outs will also be available. The menu includes ham, potatoes, corn, bread, beverage and dessert for $15. Tickets purchased in advance are much appreciated and are available from church members and friends. Walk-ins will be welcome while supplies last.
