Mayville Senior Citizens Gather Thursday

MAYVILLE — The Mayville Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday at the VFW in Mayville. The guest speaker will be John Keating. Bring a dish to pass. Everyone is welcome to attend.

St. Lukes Thrift Shop Open Saturday

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, will be open this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Regular shopping hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. In the ladies department select winter coats are marked down and there’s a new “spring preview” rack. All departments are well stocked with winter clothing. The men’s department includes plus sizes; the children’s department also has many toys; and the housewares department has many useful items. The all volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street.

Planning Board To Meet March 7

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7. The meeting will be in Room 331 at the Gerace Office Building at 3 N. Erie St., Mayville. MAYVILLE — Members of the Chautauqua Lake Central School Board will hold a board meeting at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, in the secondary library at the school. The public is welcome to attend.

United Senior Council To Gather March 7

The United Senior Council of Chautauqua County will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 9, on the third floor of the Chautauqua Center on Institute Street in Jamestown. Note the change of location. All county seniors are welcome to attend. Call Ellen Coffaro at 716-763-1012 with any questions.

County Board Of Health Meets March 16

The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the HRC building, fourth floor conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. Public comments at the meetings during the privilege of the floor must be made in person.

Lifeguards Sought For Village Beach

LAKEWOOD — The village of Lakewood is looking to sponsor students who will be 16 years old or older or any adults by June to take a course to be a lifeguard. If the student successfully completes the course and agrees to work at the beach in Lakewood for at least one season, the village will pay for the course.
