Fire Dept. To Host Chicken BBQ
SINCLAIRVILLE — The Sinclairville Volunteer Fire Department will be hosting its first dine-in or carry-out chicken barbecue of the year on Sunday, Feb. 26, beginning at noon and running until sold out. The cost is $15 for a full dinner, consisting of a half-chicken, scalloped potatoes, roll, fruit cup, pickles and a cookie. Beverages will also be available. A half-chicken only meal will be available for $8. Plenty of parking will be available behind the fire hall.
Kennedy Free Library To Host Story Fest
KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library will be hosting its quarterly Story Fest on Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Children up to 12 years old are welcome to attend. There will be stories, games, crafts, and refreshments. Call 716-267-4265 for more details.
Churches To Hold Monthly Dinners
FREWSBURG — The Fentonville and Wheeler Hill United Methodist Churches in Frewsburg will be selling tickets for dinners in March, April and May for a fundraising effort. The first dinner will be held Wednesday, March 15, from 4:30-7 p.m. and catered by 3 C’s Catering. Dine-in options will be available at the Falcon’s Nest, 2001 E. Main St., Falconer, while take-outs will also be available. The menu includes a chicken and biscuit dinner, beverage and dessert for $12. Tickets are available from church members and friends. Frewsburg Library To Host Tiny
Art Show
FREWSBURG — Myers Memorial Library, 6 Falconer St., Frewsburg, will host a Tiny Art Show with an opening reception from 1-3 p.m. Saturday, March 4. All artists, their families, friends and community are invited to attend. Light refreshments will be available. The art will be on display from March 4-31. The Tiny Art was created by patrons at Myers Memorial Library. Both children and adults have submitted work for the show. Tiny canvases were provided by the library in early February, and artists had until the end of the month to complete their tiny masterpieces.
Auxiliary Unit To Meet March 14
Cassadaga American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 members are looking into making more tote bags for a foster children project, and a possible class to learn CPR and how to use a defibrillator. Unit members continues to send coupons to the county chairperson to help with the “Troopons” project. It was noted that Unit 1280 and community members have knitted lap blankets that have been given local veterans and seniors. There was discussion on having a celebration to honor the 104th American Legion birthday on March 15, more details to follow, and plans are in the works for the unit’s annual rummage sale in May. The next unit meeting will be Tuesday, March 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the legion post; all members are encouraged to attend.
