Gather Friday

BUSTI — The Independent Railroaders will hold its monthly meeting at the Busti Fire Hall, 866 Mill Road, Busti, on Friday. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting starting at 7 p.m. The first part of the meeting will be a presentation by Dave Cole on hobby kit modifications for model railroads. The second part of the meeting will focus on individual experiences with model trains. Members are encouraged to bring anything they may have from their earliest experience with the hobby to any current models.

To Hike At

Akeley Swamp

On Sunday, members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike at Akeley Swamp. Those attending should meet at the game lands parking are on old Route 62 at 2 p.m. The hike will be an out and back hike of 4 miles. Linda Ross will be the leader and can be reached at 814-688-5908 for any questions.

Dept. To Host Swiss Steak

Dinner

The Busti Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary is hosting a dine-in-only Swiss Steak dinner fundraiser to honor veterans from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, March 4, at the Busti Fire Hall, 886 Mill Road, Jamestown. Veterans with a valid ID can eat for free, otherwise the cost is $15 per dinner guest. Space is limited and reservations are required by Feb. 21 by calling 716-661-9064.

Golden Agers

To Meet On Tuesday

LAKEWOOD — The first meeting of the year for the Lakewood-Busti Golden Agers will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 21, at the Lakewood American Legion building. Barbara Cessna will speak on the subject of “Honor Flights for veterans.” The business meeting will include installation of officers for 2023. This year’s officers are president, Sharon McCreary; vice president, Connie Whitman; secretary, Katherine Ballard; and treasurer, Cecile Wilson. Refreshments will be provided. All seniors are welcome to attend.

Frehley To Play At Reg Lenna April 29

Ace Frehley will play a concert at the Reg Lenna Center for the Arts, 116 E. Third St., Jamestown, on Saturday, April 29, at 7 p.m. The original guitarist for KISS, Frehley will play songs from the band’s catalog, as well as his solo songs. The Jamestown band, Hot at Bats, will open the show. Tickets are now on sale and are available at reglenna.com or at the center’s box office on Mondays and Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. or Wednesdays from noon to 8 p.m. As The Post-Journal reported in January, the concert has received a $50,000 allocation through the Jamestown Local Development Corporation.
