Group Holds Christmas Program

Warren-Jamestown Christian Women, Village Missions Country Partners, held its Christmas program Dec. 15 at Praise Fellowship Church, Russell. Spiritual speaker, Rhea Jean Fish, of Pleasantville, told of how God helped her heal from trauma and depression after a decades-old crime killed her father and injured her mother. The group’s next luncheon will be held at noon Tuesday, Jan. 10, at Praise Fellowship. The Spiritual Speaker will be Nina Bell, of Chautauqua County, who will share how she serves God through her involvement in prison ministry. Reservations may be made by calling Judy Crothers at (814) 723-7613 or Nancy Schuyler at (716) 720-4410 by Jan. 8. There are no dues or membership. Friends and new guests are welcome. Lunch is provided by the committee for $6.

Fund Accepting\Grant Applications

The Ripley Community and Heritage Fund is accepting grant applications. Charitable, not-for-profit organizations that serve the Ripley community are eligible to apply for funding. Interested organizations can find grant applications and guidelines at nccfoundation.org/community-advised or by contacting RCHF Board Chair Richard Wade, 716-269-9304, or Co-chair Pete Ryan, 716-252-6542. Mail completed applications to the RCHF, c/o Dick Wade 25 North State St. Ripley, NY 14775, postmarked by Jan. 15. The RCHF was formed in 2000 with a mission to enrich the lives of Ripley residents. To help the community, the RCHF administers a grant program specifically for volunteer organizations providing valuable services within the Ripley community. The RCHF is a community donor-advised fund of the Northern Chautauqua Community Foundation.

Harmony Seniors Citizens To Meet On Thursday

PANAMA –The Harmony Senior Citizens will meet at noon Thursday, Jan. 5, at Panama United Methodist Church for a soup and sandwich luncheon. Each person attending should bring their own table service, including bowls and spoons for the soup. After the meeting, games of Bingo will be played and members are asked to share the wealth by bringing in a gift for Bingo prizes.

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Open Saturday

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, will be open Saturday, Jan. 7, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Regular shopping hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, and now the first Saturday of the month 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The men’s department has all dress shirts for $1 and the children’s department now has a large amount of small children’s toys. The miscellaneous and ladies departments are also very well stocked. All proceeds are used in the local community. The all volunteer staff includes many from RSVP.
