Special Board Meeting Taking Place On Wed.

The Ellicott Town Board will hold a special board meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday in the Ellicott Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

Christmas

Service To Be Held On Sat.

SHERMAN — Sherman Community Church will host its Christmas service at 10 p.m. Saturday. There will be no service on Christmas morning.

Candlelight Christmas Eve Service Will Be Held On Sat.

WESTFIELD — A Community Noel Candlelight Christmas Eve Service will be held Saturday at 11 p.m. at the new church building of Lighthouse Christian Fellowship, located on the corner of North Portage and English streets, Westfield. The service begins in the dark in anticipation of the arrival Jesus. The message of Christmas will be brought to life through Scripture, songs sung by a 35-member choir, dance, drama, and handbells. The choir is comprised of youth through adults from Ashville, Portland, Ripley, Sherman and Westfield and directed by Kent Knappenberger of Westfield.

Frewsburg To Offer 5-Hour Course

FREWSBURG — A five-hour pre-licensing driving course will be offered at Frewsburg High School from 5-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9. The cost is $30. Preregister by emailing rhair@frewsburgcsd.org or calling 716-569-7026 between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. When calling, have a permit on hand.

Community Blood Drive Scheduled For Thursday

UPMC Chautauqua will host a Community Blood Bank blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday. To schedule an appointment, call 814-456-4206. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait time, but not required.  Walk-ins will be taken as space allows. The Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Myers Memorial Library Hosting Bird Sleuth Class

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library will offer a Bird Sleuth Class beginning Wednesday, Jan. 4, at 4 p.m. The class will be taught by Molly Brown from the Cornell Cooperative Extension and will last for four weeks. Registration is required. The four classes will take place on Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25 at 4 p.m. Call the Myers Memorial Library to register at 716-569-5515. The class is for children between the ages of 6 and 12 and is free.
