Women’s Club Christmas

Caroling

All are invited to join in the Allen Park Women’s Club free Christmas caroling from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Allen Park Pavilion. The Jamestown High School Madrigal Singers will start right at 6 p.m. and Santa Claus will make an appearance also. Gather around the bonfire at the Park for singing, hot chocolate, coffee and cookies for all.

Auxiliary Plans Christmas

Meeting

SHERIDAN — The Auxiliary for the Sheridan VFW 6390 will hold its December meeting on Monday at the post located at 2556 Route 20. It will be an informal meeting, included in the Christmas party.

All members are invited. Any last-minute responses for the prime rib dinner must be arranged through Rene at the post. Dinner will be served at 6:30, following cocktails at 6:00. There is a Toys for Tots bin in the lobby of the post and the auxiliary is accepting donations from its members and the public until Friday.

Lockout Initiated At Love

Elementary School

Jamestown Public Schools said it was made aware of a “community operation” Wednesday by the Jamestown Police Department that was in close proximity to Love Elementary School.

After consultation with JPD, and out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed in a temporary lockout for about 10 minutes.

The school day continued as normal during the lockout, and at no point were Love students or staff in danger.

“As always, the safety of our students and staff is of the utmost importance and we appreciate the partnership with law enforcement,” the district said.

‘Hide And Seek’ Set For Lirbary

WESTFIELD — Ready or not, here comes Patterson Library’s “Hide and Seek After Dark.” It takes place on from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Monday. This event is open to ages 13 to 18. No pre-signups required. 

Cookie Exchange Set For Dec. 15th

FREWSBURG — The Myers Memorial Library will host a Christmas carol sing and cookie exchange at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15. Lyrics to favorite Christmas carols will be available and those attending will sing by the library’s new fireplace. To take part in the cookie exchange, bring two or three dozen cookies and an empty container. Hot chocolate and coffee will be available.

Psychic, Shopping, Event Saturday

LILY DALE — Lily Dale Volunteer Fire Co. will hold a Holiday Psychic and shopping lunch event from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lily Dale Fire Hall. Lunch will be from noon to 1 p.m. for $7 and include a burger, hot dog or vegetarian burger with chips, chili, macaroni and cheese with desert and beverage. Vendors and holiday gifts will be available. In addition, there will be mini psychic readings that are $20 for 10 minutes.
