Office To Serve As Toy Drop-Off Location
LAKEWOOD — Kathryn Colvin, the local Edward Jones financial advisor, is supporting the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program by using her office as a drop-off location for this year’s toy drive. Local residents may help needy children in the area by bringing in a new, unwrapped toy to the office, 305 E. Fairmount Ave., Lakewood, during regular business hours. The drive is through Dec. 16. Monetary gifts cannot be accepted.
Beekeepers Association Meets Today
The Chautauqua County Beekeepers Association will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. today at Fluvanna Community Church, 3363 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. Lorraine Post and Pam VanVolkenburg will make a special presentation about Emergency Assistance for Livestock (ELAP) and other programs for beekeepers who sell either honey, pollination services, and/or stock produced by the colonies. ELAP provides financial assistance to eligible producers for losses due to disease and certain adverse weather events and conditions. The presentation will address eligibility, procedures for applying and important deadlines. The meeting is open to the public free of charge.
Library Board Of Trustees Will Meet On. Nov. 15
LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Memorial Library Board of Trustees will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 12 W. Summit St., Lakewood. Members of the public are welcome to attend.
Food Policy Council Meets Nov. 16
The Chautauqua County Food Policy Council will meet at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at Park United Methodist Church, 25 Maple Ave., Cassadaga. The meeting is open to the public.
Library Receives Grant From
Charlie’s Fund
SINCLAIRVILLE — Sinclairville Free Library has received a grant from Charlie’s Fund, a charity fund whose mission is to make impactful giving easier for all. The two values of Charlie’s Fund are leadership and collaboration. The library said it was “blessed” for the funding, thanks to Dr. Robert Kochersberger Jr. and his wife, the Rev. Janet Watrous. It was done to honor the memory of Kochersberger’s parents, Dr. Robert “Bob” Kochersberger, Sr. and Margorie “Marge” Kochersberger, who were instrumental in the building of the library, located at 15 Main St.
Southwestern Central School To Host BBQ Dinner
Southwestern Central School is hosting a barbecue dinner to raise money for its Senior Class After-Grad Extravaganza. The barbecue is pick-up with pre-sale tickets available through Nov. 15. Dinner costs $15 and includes a half-chicken, macaroni and cheese, baked beans and a roll. Dinners can be picked up oan Tuesday, Nov. 22, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Southwestern High School dome.
