Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Vendor Show & Bake Sale

CASSADAGA — Saturday, Oct. 29 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Cassadaga Legion Auxiliary Unit 1280 will be hosting its annual Vendor Show and Bake Sale. Its a great time to get some early Christmas shopping done, grab a homemade soup and sandwich lunch, and get dessert too from the Bake Sale.

Participating In National Pill Take Back Day

The Cattaraugus County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the US Drug Enforcement Agency, will be holding its semi-annual National Pill Take Back day. The public can drop off prescription and non-prescription medication for proper disposal. No sharps will be accepted. The drop-off locations are the Salamanca Fire Station at 225 Wildwood Ave., Salamanca and Delevan Plaza, at 40 N. Main St., Delevan. Drop-offs will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Dunham To Speak At

Church Services

David Dunham, a retired Salvation Army officer living in Erie, Pennsylvania, will share his testimony Sunday, Oct. 30, at Ashville United Methodiat Church, 2180 North Maple Avenue, Ashville, at 9 a.m., and at Magnolia United Methodist Church, 3969 Route 394, Mayville, at 11 a.m. David says he was snatched from death more than once because God is not finished with him yet. He has served in Ohio, upstate New York, Rhode Island, on the College for Office Training, and has traveled to London, England; Liberia, Africa; Israel and Norway. He co-founded The Salvation Army’s International Motorcycle Ministry, with which he remains engaged, although he’s no longer riding. Come and listen to David share his life story. There will be a tureen dinner at the Magnolia Church at 12:30 p.m. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to pass and table service. All are welcome at both services.

Church To Host Trunk or Treat

PORTLAND — The West Portland Baptist Church Sunday School is hosting a Trunk-or-Treat on Monday, Oct. 31 from 5-8 p.m. The event will happen rain or shine at the church, where there will be food, games, prizes, crafts, treats, and pumpkin decorating! Bring out the whole family in costume for a free evening of good, clean fun! The church is located at 7081 East Route 20 Westfield, NY 14787.

Valley Historical Society Will Meet

The next meeting of the Valley Historical Society will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Sinclairville Fire Hall in the dining room. The speaker will be Todd Langworthy, Town of Pomfret historian. Mr. Langworthy will speak on various topics concerning the Town of Pomfret. Anyone interested in local history is invited to attend.
