Empty Bowls Fundraiser Will Be Held Saturday

FREDONIA — The Empty Bowls Fundraiser to Fight Hunger will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in the east parking lot adjacent to Mudslingers Studios in downtown Fredonia. The fundraiser is held rain or shine. Outdoor Club Meeting To Hike On Sunday

Celebration To Take Place On Sunday

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga American Legion will hold its Oktoberfest celebration on Sunday at the legion on Maple Avenue, Cassadaga. The Whiz Whip food truck will be in the parking lot from 3 to 6 p.m. while music will be performed by Family Traditions in the legion hall from 4 to 7 p.m. There is also a food drive. Those bringing a non-perishable food items or cash donation can win a door prize.

Bemus Point Central School BOE Will Meet On Monday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Central School Board of Education will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the superintendent’s office at Maple Grove High School. The board is expected to move into executive session to discuss a board vacancy. No action will be taken.

WESTFIELD — Book clubs meeting in October at the Patterson Library in Westfield include: Best Sellers at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 4 discussing “The Personal Librarian” by Marie Benedict and Victoria Christopher Murray; the Literary Circle at 10 a.m. Oct. 8 discussing “Go Tell It on the Mountain” by James Baldwin; the Mystery Book Club: at 4 p.m. Oct. 19 discussing “Open Season” by C.J. Box; and the Wanderlust group meeting at 4 p.m. Oct. 27 discussing “Wide Sargasso Sea” by Jean Rhys.

Revolution To Hold Monthly Meeting On

October 8

The Chautauqua Chapter of the Sons of the American Revolution will hold its monthly meeting on Saturday, Oct. 8, at 12:30 p.m. at the Stockton Hotel. Members will order lunch from the menu. The Sons of the American Revolution is a national group of men who trace their ancestry to a patriot in the War of Independence. Meetings are open to all interested in joining or just finding out more about the organization. Spouses are invited as well.
