FALCONER — The Thule Lodge, which is the Swedish organization in Western New York, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer. Plans for upcoming events will be discussed and all members are encouraged to attend. Refreshments will be provided after the meeting. New members are always welcome.

County Bridge Closed To All Traffic Due To Repairs Starting Wednesday

ELLINGTON — County Bridge 1019 on Harris Hollow Road in Ellington will be closed to all traffic starting Wednesday so repairs can be made. A detour will be posted using Old Chautauqua Road and Hagerdon Hill Road. The closure shall remain in effect until the repairs are complete and the barricades and signs are removed.

Kennedy Free Library To Host A Roald Dahl Book Festival Saturday

KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library is hosting a Roald Dahl book festival from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday. Children through 12 years of age are welcome to attend. Children under 7 years of age should be accompanied by an adult. The event is free of charge and open to the community. Reservations are not required but are appreciated. The festival will include stories, crafts and activities highlighting Roald Dahl’s most famous books.

Painting Event On Saturday

LAKEWOOD — Join local artist D’Arsie Manzella at the Lakewood Memorial Library on Saturday at 1 p.m. as she guides participants in the use of watercolor painting as a tool to quiet the mind. No experience is necessary and materials will be provided. The event is appropriate for teens and adults and is free and open to the public. Pre-registration is recommended as space is limited by calling 716-763-6234 or emailing programs@lakewoodlibrary.org. Funding for this program was provided by the Cullen Foundation for the Arts.

Drive-Through Chicken BBQ Fundraiser On Saturday

Community Helping Hands will be hosting a drive-through chicken barbecue fundraiser on Saturday from noon until sold out at Zion Covenant Church on Fairmount Avenue. The cost is $15 a dinner.

Busti Apple

Festival To Take Place On Sunday

BUSTI — The Busti Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary will be serving its usual Busti Apple Festival menu this year at the Busti Apple Festival on Sunday in a new location. The auxiliary will be located at the Busti Fire Hall at the five corners in Busti by the traffic light. Its menu will feature the auxiliary’s chili, Italian sausage served on locally baked rolls; hot dogs, chili dogs, or chili/cheese dogs, walking tacos, nachos and cheese and strawberry shortcake. The auxiliary will be serving food from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or until sold out.
