SHERMAN — The Olive Lodge, 197 Park St., Sherman, will host a program at 7:30 p.m. today featuring Mike Ganske, a retired CIA agent, called “Intelligence and the Revolutionary War.” Refreshments will be served.

Car Show To Be Held At Midway State Park

The Der Kobblers will be holding its annual car show at Midway State Park from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday. There will be a $10 registration fee. Dash plaques will be made available for the first 400 participants and awards will be given out for 21 categories voted on by the participants. Proceeds from the car show will benefit UPMC Chautauqua Diabetes Education and Roswell Park Community Alliance. Anyone with questions can contact Sam Ognibene at 716-450-0663.

Pulled Pork For Paws Fundraiser To Take Place On Saturday

Basil & Bones, 2061 Foote Ave. Extension, Kiantone, will hold a Pulled Pork 4 Paws fundraiser from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. There will be live music by Mark Mincarelli, food and some pet items available for purchase. Those attending can get a free pulled pork sandwich if they donate items needed by the Pick of the Litter animal rescue, including dog and cat food, bleach, paper towels, Dawn, dog treats and cat litter.

Jamestown BPU Will Be Closed On Labor Day

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will be closed on Monday in observance of Labor Day. In addition, garbage and recycling will not be collected on Monday. Due to the Labor Day holiday, Monday’s garbage and recycling collection will be delayed until Tuesday, Sept. 6. In the same way, Tuesday collection will be delayed until Wednesday; Wednesday collection will be moved to Thursday; Thursday to Friday; and Friday collection to Saturday, Sept. 10. The Yard Waste Site, 1001 Monroe St., will be open for its regular 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 3, hours even though it is the Labor Day holiday weekend. The site also is open from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesdays. For reports of trouble for all BPU Divisions during non-business hours, customers may call 716-661-1640. During regular business hours, such calls may be made to BPU Customer Service at 716-661-1660.

Workshops To Be Held On

The Town of Ellicott will be holding budget workshops on the following dates and times: September 6 at 5 p.m., Sept. 8 at 5:30 p.m. and Sept. 13 at 5 p.m. The workshops will be held in the Town Office at 215 S. Work St., Falconer.
