South Dayton Concert Set For Wednesday

SOUTH DAYTON –A concert will be held Wednesday from 6:30-8:30 p.m. in the South Dayton Gazebo with Paul Zittel and Pure Country performing. During the music concert at 7 p.m. enjoy art class with Sue Bradigan, kid art-finger painting for all ages, and Peg VanWormer will show how to create a fancy derby hat. There is no charge for painting or creating a derby hat. The project is made possible with funds from the Statewide Community Regrant program, a regrant program of the New York State Council on the Arts with support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature and administered by The ARTS Council of the Southern Finger Lakes.

School Board Meets Wednesday

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Central School Board will hold its annual organizational and regular meeting at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Outdoor Club To Ride Bikes

The Allegheny Outdoor Club will ride bikes twice this week. The group will meet on Wednesday at the first parking lot inside Presque Isle State Park at 2 p.m. The Friday ride will be held in Bemus Point. Attendees there are asked to meet at the casino parking lot at 6 p.m. Dennis Anderson will lead both rides and can be reached at 716-969-9772 with questions.

Fenton To Host July Brown Bag Luncheon This Wednesday

The Fenton History Center will host its July Brown Bag Lecture on Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Fenton Mansion. Fletcher Ward, noted local author, will present a program on the Muskellunge of Chautauqua Lake. The program is free and sponsored by The Legend Group and Fessenden Laumer & D’Angelo PLLC.

County Ag And Farmland Board Meets

Ashville Community Garage Sale Set For Saturday

ASHVILLE — The Ashville United Methodist Church will hold a community garage sale starting at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Fireman’s baseball diamond pavillion on Magnolia Street, Ashville. The sale will be held rain or shine.

The Fenton History Center will host a book signing on Tuesday, July 19, at 6:30 p.m. with author Bill Walsh, who will discuss his new book, Lakewood, set in the village of Lakewood. It is the first book in a series of three. Walsh was born in Jamestown and raised in Lakewood. He now lives in Atlanta, Ga., where he is the director of the undergraduate and graduate creative writing programs at Reinhardt University. He is the editor of the James Dickey Review and when not writing, he spends time with his family, enjoys competitive tennis and golf, as well as playing chess internationally. There is no cost to attend.
