Thrift Shop Offering Discounts

For a limited time, all ladies slacks and jeans are 50 cents at St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown. Skirts are now all 50% off. Men’s slacks and dress/sport shirts are 50% off. There is a large selection of summer clothing for ladies, men and children and the housewares department is well stocked. The shop is open for sales Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; receiving donations Tuesday 9 a.m. to noon. All proceeds are used to benefit the local community.

Library Open House Is June 12

BUSTI — Area residents are invited to the Hazeltine Public Library open house on Sunday, June 12, from noon to 2 p.m. Featured at the event will be a library open house and tours of the new community building at the library. In addition there will be a bounce house, outdoor games, an ice cream eating contest and free books. Also planned are Tarp Skunk baseball players signing autographs and giving away game tickets, therapy dog demonstrations, additional vendors and displays as well as free hot dogs while supplies last. The event is free and open to the public.  The Hazeltine Public Library is located at 891 Busti Sugar Grove Road, Jamestown. Parking is available at the Busti Fire Hall. In the event of bad weather the open house for the library and community building will still take place but many of the outdoor activities will be cancelled. Gerry Senior Citizens Meet Friday

GERRY — The Rodeo Senior Citizens of Gerry will meet at noon Friday in the United Methodist Church in Gerry. The gathering will be a luncheon meeting followed by a program. All those attending are asked to bring a dish of food to add to the meal and their own table service.

Club Dinner Is Saturday

The Marco Polo Club will be holding an in-club, sit-down, spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday. Dinners are $11 for adults and $6 for children. Salad inclusion based on availability. Take-out dinners will be available. Drive through will not be available.

Aux Board Gathers Thursday

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the board room. The auxiliary will hold an ice cream social at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 14, in the main dining room. Greeters will be Julie Mula and Helen Johnson. The program is Pat Cook, “Women of Country.”

Road Work Begins June 13

Construction crews will be rehabilitating Dutch Hollow Road, County Route 57, from June 13 through July 1. The road will not be closed. Expect lane closures with flaggers and signs during weekday hours from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. from June 30 through July 1. A detour will not be posted. Plan on taking an alternate route.
