CWD Open House Set For Wednesday

RUSSELL, Pa. — There will be a Chronic Wasting Disease open house hosted by the Pennsylvania Game Commission from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Russell Volunteer Fire Hall, 66 Perrigo Lane, Russell, Pa. The informational session will focus on providing information to the public about CWD and the status of Disease Management Area 5 in northern Warren County. Board Of Health Meet On

Thursday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Board of Health will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Hall R. Clothier Building, B-14, basement level conference room, 7 N. Erie St., Mayville. Comments received from the public will be accepted as communications, and not read during privilege of the floor. DOT Breakfast Club Meeting Thursday

IRVING — The New York State Department of Transportation Breakfast Club will meet at 10 a.m. Thursday at Seneca Hawk in Irving. All retirees are welcome, and anyone with questions is asked to call 716-965-2007.

Sprinkler

Inspection Set For Friday

The quarterly fire sprinkler system inspection will be conducted at the 101 Jackson Ave. warehouse in Celoron beginning around 9 a.m. Friday. Water in Celoron and west toward Lakewood may become discolored and take 12 to 24 hours to clear.

Spring Skating Show Set On Saturday

The Jamestown Skating Club will present its spring skating show, “The Good Ole Days,” on Saturday with showtimes at 1 p.m. and 6 p.m. at the Northwest Arena. The show will feature solos, duets and group numbers performed to music from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1990s by a wide variety of skaters. General admission tickets are $10 at the door.

Driving Safety Even Set For

Saturday

The Shults Auto Group, 311 Fairmount Ave., will host a free teen and parent driving safety event from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. There will be a drunk driving simulation and a distracted driving simulation as well as driving simulation games. The event is sponsored by Shults Auto Group, Arden Solutions, Southern Tier Health Care System Inc., Healthy Cattaraugus County and Safe Kids Southern Tier New York.

Chicken BBQ To Be Held On

Sunday

The Lander Volunteer Fire Department will hold a drive-through chicken barbecue Sunday beginning at noon. The cost is $12 for a full dinner or $8 for a half chicken or children’s meal. The chicken is cooked over charcoal fire with the department’s signature basting sauce. Sides include potato salad, apple sauce, roll and dessert.
