Proclaimed National Poll Worker

Recruitment Day

The U.S. Elections Assistance Commission has proclaimed today as National Poll Worker Recruitment Day. Across the U.S., poll workers are the backbone of the Election Infrastructure. Local Chautauqua County Board of Election Commissioners Luz Torres and Brian Abram reiterate the need for poll workers within Chautauqua County. The Commissioners ask all registered voters to pitch in and help Chautauqua County Voters during the June 28 primary election and Nov. 8 general election. Poll Workers are responsible for checking in voters, assisting with questions and overseeing the casting of ballots for each election. Poll workers are trained annually and it is a paid position. To be eligible, you must be a county registered voter. The county always needs Spanish interpreters for the two cities within the county. Interested individuals can contact the county Board of Elections by emailing vote@chqgov.com or by calling 716-753-4580 during county business hours, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
