The Southwestern Central School Board will hold a work session meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school multipurpose room, 600 Hunt Road, Jamestown.

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a work session and special meeting via Zoom at 6 p.m. today.

Library Hosting Escape Room Sat. Jan. 29

KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library is hosting an escape room for the community from 3 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 29. Register in advance by calling the library at 716-267-4265, clicking on the Facebook event page, responding via Facebook messenger or emailing the library at director@kennedyfreelibrary.org. Participants must be 16 years old or be accompanied by an adult. Parties registering must have at least two people and no more than six per group. All are welcome. Refreshments will be provided. Those participating must bring a non-perishable food item for the food pantry to enter.

Nominations Sought For The 2022

Nominations are sought by March 1 for the 2022 Distinguished Alumnus Award, given by the Jamestown Community College alumni associations at the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses. Since 1980, the alumni associations have presented honorees with the Distinguished Alumnus Award, the association’s highest distinction. The award is given to those who typify JCC’s tradition of excellence, and bring credit to the college through personal accomplishment, professional achievement, or humanitarian service. Nominees must be graduates of JCC. The Alumni Association board of directors for both the Jamestown and Cattaraugus County campuses reviews all submissions. Awards will be announced at the 2022 commencement ceremonies. The nomination form is available at www.sunyjcc.edu/alumni.

Member-Guest Luncheon Sat. Feb.5

The Norden Women’s Club will host a member-guest luncheon on Saturday, Feb. 5, at noon at the Marvin Community House. The program is a performance by the Bonnie Loch Fiddlers. Reservations are due Jan. 31, by calling Birgitta Hofert at 716-664-5625 or Barb Anderson at 716-490-8195.

Annual Business Meeting And Trivia Contest Held On Feb. 2

The annual business meeting and trivia contest of the Fenton History Center will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 2, at Shawbucks Pressroom Restaurant, located at 212 W. Second St., Jamestown. All current members of the Historical Society are invited to attend as well as general public. The members will be electing officers to serve the 2022-23 term. Stay for the Winter Trivia Tournament following the meeting. Doors open at 4 p.m., games begin at 7 p.m., $10 per player to participate in the Trivia Contest.
