Cherry Creek Church To Hold Bible Studies

CHERRY CREEK — The Cherry Creek United Methodist Church will begin a series of Bible studies starting Nov. 3. The women’s Bible study group will meet Wednesdays at 10 a.m. to explore “Life in the Church,” led by Liz Dedloff. The evening Bible study entitled “Pressure Points,” will be led by Pastor John Dedloff on Wednesdays at 6 p.m.

School Board Meeting Mon. Oct. 25 At 7 p.m.

PANAMA — Members of the Panama Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the auditorium. The meeting is open to the public.

Phase 1 Leaf Collection In Jamestown Mon. Nov. 8

Phase 1 of leaf collection in Jamestown will begin Monday, Nov. 8. Residents are advised to rake leaves to the terrace area behind the curb and not into the street. Residents are also asked to refrain from placing any trash, plastic bags or containers in leaves. All basketball hoops in the Right of Way must be removed. Phase 1 will begin in the Foote Avenue, Martin Road and Linwood Avenue area and move east and north, counter clockwise, to the east side of Washington Street and the Fluvanna Avenue area. Phase 2 of leaf collection will begin in the Foote Avenue and Ivy Street area and will move west and north, clockwise, to Washington Street. Phase 2 is estimated to begin Nov. 22. No yard waste, brush, hedge trimmings, garden debris or tree branches will be collected. This material as well as leaves can be brought to the BPU yard waste site at 1001 Monroe St. during normal hours of operation on Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Nov. 13. The Department of Public Works is looking for local farmers and/or composters who may be interested in obtaining leaves collected this fall. Leaves can be brought directly to those interested or collected at a later date. If interested, contact the DPW at 483-7545.

Chicken BBQ Sat. Oct. 23

FREDONIA — A chicken barbecue to benefit Chautauqua Hospice & Palliative Care will take place Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 3780 Eagle St., Fredonia, the corner of Eagle Street and Route 60. The location is a change from what was previously announced. The chicken barbecue is sponsored by Bahgat & Laurito-Bahgat, CPAs, BLB Insurance Agency, Inc. and BLB Main Street Payroll. Tickets are $12 and are available at 16 W. Main St., Fredonia. The meal includes Weidner’s chicken, along with two side dishes and a roll.

School Board Meet On Nov. 3 At 6 p.m.

RANDOLPH — Members of the Randolph Central School Board will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 3, in the high school. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact Maureen Pitts, district clerk, at 358-7005 or mpitts@randolphcsd.org to make arrangements by 2 p.m. the day of the meeting. Masks are required and social distancing will be observed.
