Chautauqua County Real Property Tax Dept. Appt. Only

MAYVILLE — Effective Oct. 15, the Chautauqua County Real Property Tax Department in Mayville is open by appointment only. Appointments or other real property tax assistance including over the phone transactions can be made by calling the Real Property Tax Office at 753-4221.

Blood Drive Tues. Oct. 19

The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from 8 a.m. to noon Tuesday at UPMC Chautauqua. To schedule an appointment for the UPMC Chautauqua drive, call Kathy at 450-0376. Appointments are encouraged to reduce wait time, but are not required. Walk-ins will be taken as space allows. Everyone who donates in the month of October with Community Blood Bank will automatically be entered to win four tickets to an NFL game and a $50 gas card. The winner will be drawn Nov. 1. Community Blood Bank partners with hospitals in Northwest Pennsylvania and Western New York to provide blood for patients in need. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health. To learn more or to find a blood drive, visit www.fourhearts.org or call 877-842-0631.

Emergency Relief Funds

The Jamestown Public Schools has been allocated federal funding from the Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Funds allocated by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. Community members can fill out a survey, located at jpsny.org/ARP-Survey or in Spanish at jpsny.org/ARP-Encuesta by Nov. 1 to give their thoughts on how that money should be spent. The money must be spent on certain high priority areas addressing learning loss or student support services needed to support and sustain the benefits of full-time in-person instruction after the COVID-19 pandemic including:: ensuring a safe return to in-person instruction, maximizing student learning, educational technology, social, emotional, mental health and academic needs, summer, after school and extended learning, and early childhood education.

Biscuit Dinner Drive Thru

PORTLAND — There will be a drive-through chicken and biscuit dinner at the Portland Congregational Church, 8649 Church St., Portland, from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, or until sold out. The menu includes chicken, biscuits, mashed potatoes and gravy, tossed salad, vegetable, beverage and dessert.

Library Board Meeting Thurs. Oct. 21
