Falconer Blood Drive Thursday

FALCONER — Community Blood Bank is holding a mobile blood drive from 2-6 p.m. on Thursday at Xplosion All-Star Gym, 2485 Falconer Frewsburg Road, Falconer. “The need for blood is constant. Our regular blood donors give consistently, but we simply need more people to decide to donate blood,” says Erin Tighe Community Relations Specialist.

Cemetery Wants Pots, Decorations Removed

FREWSBURG — The Maple Grove Cemetery in Frewsburg will be conducting its fall cleanup. All urns, pots and summer decorations should be removed by October 15 or will be disposed of by caretakers. Winter wreaths will be permitted from November to April. For more information call the cemetery office at 922-4084.

Community Outreach Store To Hold Sale

The Community Outreach Store at First Lutheran Church, 120 Chandler St., Jamestown, will hold a clearance sale from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. Masks and social distancing will be observed.

Scandinavian Culture Day Canceled

With the temporary resurgence of COVID in Chautauqua County the Scandinavian Culture Day sessions planned for Oct. 2 and Nov. 6 at Jamestown Community College have been canceled. Organizers said they hope the area will be in a better place for the December Culture Day and Julmarknad (Christmas Market).

The South And Center Sewer Districts To Meet

Church To Hold Apple Butter Festival

WESTFIELD — The West Portland Baptist Church, 7081 E. Route 20, Westfield, will hold its Apple Butter Festival from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, featuring old-fashioned kettle cooked apple butter available for a donation. There also will be vendors offering various sale items including food vendors. The festival will take place rain or shine. All profits generated from the festival will be donated to the Nina’s Kitchen Brocton/Portland Food Pantry, which is operated on the church grounds. Admission is free and the public is welcome to attend.

Round & Square Dance To Take Place Oct. 23

RANDOLPH — The Randolph Fire will host a Round & Square Dance by Paul Zittel & Pure Country from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 23, at 70 Main St., Randolph. Admission is $15 per person, $25 per couple and $30 per family. Refreshments will be available from Ambassador Girl Scout Troop 10193.
