Cassadaga To Host Night Out

CASSADAGA — The village of Cassadaga and Citizens for a Better Cassadaga will host National Night Out events from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Cassadaga Community Building and Cassadaga Fire Hall. The New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Department will attend with numerous displays and demonstrations as well as the Cassadaga Volunteer Fire Department and local organizations about their groups and purposes. Super Duper Catering will also be available on Mill Street along with a bounce house. There will not be any parking available on Mill Street. Those attending should use the beach or church parking areas.

Kokomo Time Band To Perform In Celoron

CELORON — The village of Celoron will be sponsoring a concert from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. by the Kokomo Time Band on Wednesday. It will be held at the Desi Arnaz Bandshell in Lucille Ball Memorial Park. All are welcome. Those attending should bring a lawn chair for seating.

Chaut. Central School Alumni To Meet Wednesday

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua Central School Alumni Association is having an open informational meeting at the American Legion Post in Mayville on Wednesday from 6:30 to 8 p .m. View trophies and awards from the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s. The last class was 1996. The group will have an open discussion on the future of the Association and will be looking for ideas and suggestions.

Harmony Express To Present

Concert Sunday

ASHVILLE — The Harmony Express will be presenting a morning worship concert at the Ashville United Methodist Church at 9 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 8. The public is welcome to attend.

YMCA Offers Lifeguard Class

The Jamestown YMCA is offering its third lifeguard class of the year. Upon successful completion of the class students will be certified in ARC waterfront lifeguarding, CPR-Pro, AED and first aid. The Y’s class will start with the pre-test on Aug. 13 at 6 p.m., and all candidates must pass the pre-test to be allowed to register for the class. Once the pre-test is passed, the class runs Aug. 20 from 5-8 p.m. and 21, 22, 28, 29 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Class consists of classroom and water skills each day. Candidates must be 15 by the last day of class and complete all skills proficiently and pass (80%) written tests. Chaut. County Rural Ministry Holds Fundraiser

The Chautauqua County Rural Ministry will be holding its annual fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7. The Book Shop is having an outdoor book sale. Romance novels are available six for $1, children’s books are available six for $1 and cookbooks are available six for $1. Muriel’s Closet will be open as well, and the fundraiser will also feature a chicken barbecue and outdoor yard sale.
