Kennedy Library Holding Mascot Contest
KENNEDY — The Kennedy Free Library is holding a mascot contest. Patrons are asked to submit their sketch, painting, animation, graphic design, etc. of a new mascot logo for the library. There is a $50 grand prize for the winning design. The deadline to enter is Aug. 17. Submissions can be dropped off at the Kennedy Free Library, in the book drop, or emailed to director@kennedyfreelibrary.org. The winner will be chosen by the Kennedy Free Library Board and will be announced Aug. 28 at noon. For questions call the library at 267-4265.
Canine Rescue Yard Sale Begins Friday
WESTFIELD — The ninth annual Dog-Gone Good Yard Sale to benefit the Northern Chautauqua Canine Rescue will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at the rescue, 7540 N. Gale St. Westfield. The sale takes place in tents and a building. There will also be a chicken barbecue starting at 11 a.m. Friday. The $10 ticket includes chicken, sides, dessert and a drink. Music In The Gazebo Concert Is Wednesday
SOUTH DAYTON — Music in the South Dayton Gazebo from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday will feature Patricia Cook, performing country and classic rock. In case of rain, the concert will move to the American Legion Pavilion, 4 Mill St., South Dayton. Refreshments will be available. Those attending should bring lawn chairs.
Falconer Library Board To Meet Wednesday
FALCONER — The Falconer Public Library board will meet at the library on Wednesday at 8 a.m. The library will also be ending its Summer Band Concert season on Thursday with Ralph Rasmusson and Pearl City Jazz performing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. in Davis Park, across the street from the library. If there is rain, the concert will be moved to the Falconer Fire Hall.
Food Express Truck Visits Ashville Today
ASHVILLE — The Feed More of Western New York Mobile Pantry Truck from Falconer will be at the Ashville United Methodist Church today from 10 a.m. to noon and 3 to 5 p.m. The truck brings fresh produce and some staple items. To receive free food, only proof of address from the following ZIP codes is required: Ashville 14710, Bemus Point 14712, Celoron 14720, Lakewood 14750, Niobe 14758, Panama 14767, Stow 14785 and anyone who lives in the town of Busti. Those attending are asked to wear a face mask and keep six feet of distance while in line. The food will be pre-boxed like last month.
