School Board To Meet Thursday

FREWSBURG — The Frewsburg Central School Board will hold its regular meeting and annual organizational meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Land Bank To Meet Today

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corp. will meet today starting at 9 a.m. in room 331 of the Gerace Office Building in Mayville. The public is welcome to attend.

BPU To Close For Training

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities customer service office, 92 Steele St., will be closed from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Thursday for training. Customers are reminded that payments may be made online by clicking on “My Account” on the utility homepage at jamestownbpu.com or by the phone system at 661-1660, option 3.

Thrift Shop Has Holiday Gifts

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, will celebrate Christmas in July on July 14, 15 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The shop will have new and gently used Christmas decorations, gift items, clothing and toys. The shop is still very well-stocked with summer clothing for all. Currently, all children’s clothing, ladies pants, dresses and sweaters and men’s pants are 50% off. There is also a large selection of household items. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. The all volunteer staff includes many from RSVP. Proceeds are used for outreach in our community.

Playground Build Set For Saturday

A community playground build is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. Saturday at Lillian Dickson Park. The park is located on Falconer Street, between Bowen and Sturges streets, in Jamestown.

Busti Gazebo Concert Set

BUSTI — The Busti Gazebo Concert Season returns Saturday with the “Rustic Ramblers” with country music by Howard Buck of Fredonia on lead guitar and vocals; David Bailey from Hartfield on drums and vocals; Jim Lanphere of Fredonia on bass and vocals; and Gene Hilts from West Valley on steer guitar. All concerts, sponsored by the Busti Hamlet Development Association, are from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Those who plan to attend are asked to bring their own lawn chairs.

Planning Panel To Meet July 20

The next meeting of the Jamestown Planning Commission will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at city Department of Development on the fourth floor of City Hall. The meeting will be recorded and posted on the city’s website at jamestownny.gov.

Church To Hold Fundraiser

ASHVILLE — The Ashville United Methodist Church will have a garage sale as a fundraiser during Ashville Days on Saturday in Fireman’s Park on Magnolia Drive in Ashville.
