Quilters Guild To Hold Meeting

On Saturday

Members of the Westfield Quilters Guild will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Westfield YWCA. Members and visitors are welcome to attend the meeting. This month’s program will be presented by Birgit Hanson and will include a trunk show of signature block quilts. After lunch, Hanson will help prepare everyone for the signature block exchange. Per CDC guidelines, masks aren’t required for fully vaccinated attendees, otherwise, masks are still required.

Cub Scout 123 Sets Barbecue

Cub Scout Pack 123 of St. Luke’s Church will be holding a drive-through chicken barbecue fundraiser July 24 from noon-3 p.m. at Harley-Davidson of Jamestown. Pre-sale tickets cost $13 and $15 the day of the event. The chicken will be cooked by Weidner BBQ of Eden and also includes barbecue beans, macaroni salad, roll and butter. Tickets are available at Harley-Davidson, the Allegheny Highlands Council and St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, or by emailing jtnypack123@yahoo.com.

Cassadaga School Board To Meet Monday

SINCLAIRVILLE — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will hold a special meeting at 6 p.m. on Monday to meet with the district’s architects. The regular monthly meeting will begin at 7 p.m. on Monday. Both meetings will be held in the multipurpose room.

Village-Wide Power Outage Set For Saturday

WESTFIELD — The village of Westfield is alerting its electric users of a systemwide power outage on Saturday. National Grid has to make emergency repairs to the transmission line that supplies power to the Westfield electric system. Power will go out around 5:30 a.m., and will be restored as quickly as possible. The outage is estimated to last approximately three hours.

Tech Panel To Meet Thursday

The Technical Committee of the South and Center Chautauqua Lake Sewer Districts will meet at 9:30 a.m. Thursday by video conference. Those wishing to join by phone are asked to call 646-558-8656 with the meeting ID 999-449-0210.

S. Dayton Legion Plans Events

For Weekend

SOUTH DAYTON — American Legion Post 1593 will host two weekend events, both Saturday and Sunday. On Saturday, the Post will be holding its annual walk with all proceeds benefiting the Cattaraugus County, Joseph P. Dwyer Veterans Peer to Peer Program. Sign-ins start at 11 a.m. with the cost being $10 for adults, $5 for youth 11 to 18 years of age and children under 10 walk for free. The walk will proceed around the village of South Dayton and back to the Legion where walkers will receive a free lunch and there will be a Blue Star Mothers Presentation as well as a Chinese Auction and 50-50s. On Sunday, the Sons of the Legion will be holding a drive-through chicken barbecue. The cost is $11 per dinner and it starts at noon. The dinner includes Weidner’s chicken, two sides, roll and dessert. There are no presale tickets so it is on a first come-first serve basis.
