Thule Lodge Sets Memorial Service
FALCONER– The Thule Lodge will host its annual memorial service at 7 p.m. Thursday in the Falcon’s Nest in Falconer to remember those members who have died in the last 18 months. All members are encouraged to attend to honor the members. Refreshments will be served following the service. The Thule Lodge is the Swedish organization for Chautauqua County. It was formed 112 years ago to help the Swedish immigrants as they settled in America. Thule Lodge welcomes new members.
Library To Hold Book Sale
BEMUS POINT — Area residents are invited to the Bemus Point Library on Saturday for a ‘pop up’ book sale. The sale, planned for the yard of the library, will be held from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. In the event of rain the sale will be moved indoors with social distancing and safety precautions taken. “There’s fiction, non fiction, children’s books – a great selection with something for everyone” said librarian Shannon Donovan. “Materials are not specifically priced, we’re asking people to pay what they think is a fair price — with all proceeds helping the Bemus Point Library.” The Bemus Point Library is part of the Chautauqua-Cattarugus Library System and operates six days a week, year-round. Church To Hold Take-Out Dinner
FALCONER — Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Falconer will host a take-out chicken and biscuit dinner on Thursday from 4 to 6:30 p.m. The price will be $10 for adults and $5 for children. Dinner and dessert included. Call 665-2102 to order ahead. The church is located at 20 N. Phetteplace St., Falconer. Proceeds will benefit the church Mission Fund.
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Sets Sale
St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, is overstocked with summer clothing for men, women and children. Ladies summer dresses are 50% off; at this time the men’s department includes a good selection of quality large men’s clothing. The shop is open Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; receiving only Tuesday 9 a.m. to noon. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Entrance is on Pine Street and face coverings are required. The all volunteer staff includes many from RSVP.
Historical Society
To Convene Wednesday
FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society board will meet Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the society’s facility located at 5 W. Main St. behind the town hall. All board members are asked to attend. Bob Johnson will be talking on the Park Avenue account. The public is welcome to attend.
Legion Begins Cruise Night Through Sept. 28
CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Legion Squadron 1280 will hold a cruise night at Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave., Cassadaga, from 6 to 9 p.m. the last Tuesday of every month from May 25 through Sept. 28.
