Celoron Fire Intentionally Set

CELORON — An investigation remains ongoing for a fire found to be “intentionally set” late Friday inside a vacant apartment in the village.Members of the Celoron Fire Department were called around 11 p.m. for the fire discovered inside one of the units at the Chautauqua Shoreline Apartments, 75 Marine Park Dr. Volunteers with Lakewood assisted at the scene. The county Fire Investigation Team, reviewing the incident with Celoron officials, determined the blaze was intentionally set. Members of the Fire Investigation Team are currently working with the Ellicott Police Department. Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to call Ellicott police at 665-7083.

Historical Society To Reopen Sat.

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will be reopening Saturday at 5 W. Main St Frewsburg, behind the town hall. This will be a viewing of the societies COVID-19 Collection: items collected the past year during the pandemic. Also viewing of the facilities recent remodeling inside and out. Guest speakers include former town Supervisor Laura Smith, town Supervisor Russ Payne, County legislature John Davis, First Historical Society Tom Fenton and State Sen. George Borello. Free Refreshments will be served and door prizes will be given away. Admission is free. This will be held outside in the parking lot.

After-Prom Panel To Meet Today

Falconer After-Prom will be having a meeting at 6 p.m. today in the auditorium. The group has a lot of things to cover so members are asked to attend. Plan on arriving a few minutes early to have temperatures taken and wear a mask. There will also be a senior vigil meeting immediately following. Land Bank Corp. Meets On Wed.

The Chautauqua County Land Bank Corporation board will memet at 9 a.m. Wednesday online via Zoom. The public is welcome to attend by emailing gparadis@chautauqualandbank.org with a request to register for the meeting, including the viewer’s name, address and phone number. They will then receive a link and password. A recording of the meeting will be available. County land bank meetings are conducted to discuss business associated with the acquisition and potential sale of property by the land bank and other official business as required. Marvin House Offers Take-Out

The Marvin House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals Thursday between 3-4 p.m. that will include grilled chicken salad and cream puffs. Meals will be available between 3-4 p.m. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $17 for members and $20 for non-members.
