Rod, Gun Aux. To Hold Meeting

LAKEWOOD — The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The auxiliary meeting is Monday, April 12, at 7 p.m. Members will be honoring past auxiliary presidents. A tupperware demonstration will follow featuring new and colorful items as well as popular items of the past. Greeters for the evening will be Coralyn Boehler and Dottie Enlow. Helpers are Arline Hazenberg and Karen Carlson. Refreshments will be provided by Coralyn Boehler and Sally Hagg. Scholarship applications are available. Thrift Shop Open For Sales

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, is now well stocked with spring clothing for ladies, men, and children, and new items in the housewares department. The shop is open for sales and receiving Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; receiving only Tuesday 9 a.m. to noon. At this time enter on Pine Street. Off-street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Face covering, hand sanitizing, contact tracing signing, and social distancing are required to enter. The shop is staffed by volunteers from AmeriCorps Seniors-Chautauqua County RSVP. Proceeds are used locally.

Marvin House Sets Take-Out

The Marvin House in Jamestown is offering take-out meals Thursday between 3-4 p.m. that will include tossed salad, parmesan chicken, rice, broccoli and strawberry/rhubarb crisp. Meals will be available between 3-4 p.m. Reservations can be made by sending an email to marvinhouse@netsync.net or calling 488-6206. The cost is $17 for members and $20 for non-members.

Quilters Guild To Meet Saturday

WESTFIELD — A Westfield Quilters Guild meeting will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Westfield YWCA. Members and visitors are invited to attend. After this month’s meeting, the program will feature a Block of the Month Sew Along, presented by Glenda Lewis.

Grangers To Meet April 10

Representatives of the Fluvanna Fire Department will present a program at the April 10 meeting of Ross Grange. The meeting will be at the Falcons Nest Banquet Hall with lunch served at 1 p.m. The program will be at 2 p.m. followed by the business meeting. All interested are invited to attend.

Lander VFD To Hold Barbecue

The Lander Volunteer Fire Department is holding a drive-through-only chicken barbecue Sunday beginning at noon. The cost is $10 for a full meal, $7 for a child meal and $7 for a half-chicken. The chicken will be cooked over charcoal fire with the department’s signature basting sauce. Sides will include potato salad, applesauce, roll and dessert.

Craft, Vendor Show Is April 24

SINCLAIRVILLE — Park United Methodist Church in Sinclairville will host a craft and vendor show Saturday, April 24, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Masks will be required.
