Cemetery To Hold Cleanup

FREWSBURG — Maple Grove Cemetery in Frewsburg will be conducting its spring cleanup. All winter and Christmas decorations should be removed by April 12 or they will be disposed of by caretakers. Anyone with questions is asked to call the cemetery office at 922-4084.

Legislature To Meet Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Legislature will h ave a special meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday via Zoom. To view the meeting, visit facebook.com/ChautauquaCountyGovernment. Legislators will discuss a potential application for 2021 Community Development Block Grant Funding through the state Homes and Community Renewal Housing Trust Fund to help low- and moderate-income people their repair and replace water and wastewater systems.

Walk-A-Thon Set For April 24

CASSADAGA — The 15th annual “They Marched For Us, Let’s Walk For Them” walk-a-thon will be held fom 10 a.m. to 2 p.mm. Saturday, April 24, starting at Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280. There will also be a chicken barbecue starting at noon and served until meals are gone. The cost of the barbecue is $10. Retreat To Be Held April 9-12

WESTFIELD — The Barcelona Lakeside Bed and Breakfast, a partner with A Mother’s Rest, will be hosting a three-night respite retreat April 9-12 exclusively for couples that are caregivers of loved ones with extra needs. The Barcelona Lakeside Bed and Breakfast is located in Westfield and boasts panoramic views of both Lake Erie and area vineyards. Guests will be able to visit the local wineries, antique shops, art galleries, food tours, museums, comedy, casino, farmer’s markets and more during their stay. Literacy Vols To Hold Book Sale

Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County was given more than 8,000 books that have now been sorted and are ready to be sold from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 15, 16 and 17. Because of the number of books, the sale will be held at 4595 West Main Road, Route 20, Fredonia. Book topics include: historical, political, educational, biographies, finance, spiritual, poetry, music, fiction, reference, audio, record albums and more. There are some new books, used books and some vintage books. Hardcover books are $1 each or six for $5 and 50 cents for a paperback or 12 paperbacks for $5. On April 17, an armload of books will cost $10, a bag full of books will cost $15 and a box full will cost $20. All proceeds benefit Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County.

Silver Creek Board To Meet

SILVER CREEK — The Silver Creek Village Board will meet at 7 p.m. today. The meeting will be held by video and teleconference. Anyone interested in attending will need to contact the village clerk’s office for the dial in number and meeting code.
