County Ethics Board To Meet

MAYVILLE — The Chautauqua County Ethics Board will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, in Rooms 331 and 333 of the Gerace Office Building, 3 N. Erie St. in Mayville. Current members of the board are John Marengo, David Rowe and Mary Kay Szwejbka. Those attending the meeting must wear a face covering, adhere to social distancing measures, and will be screened for the symptoms of COVID-19 prior to entering the building.

Aux. To Host

Dinner March 27

The AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary 726 with the support of the ILS Veterans Club will host a dinner from 2-6 p.m. or until sold out Saturday, March 27, at the ILS Veterans Club, 364 Fluvanna Ave., Jamestown. The ladies will be serving a choice of two fresh-cooked dinners: corned beef and cabbage and chicken and biscuits including dessert. The cost of the dinner is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 11 and under. All of the proceeds will be donated to a fund set up to repair the USS The Sullivans, a World War II guided missile destroyer moored at the Buffalo Naval and Military Park, which is taking on water and in danger of sinking. The battleship was named in honor of the five Sullivan brothers, who all perished when the USS Juno was sunk by a Japanese submarine during the battle of Guadalcanal on Nov. 14, 1942. The dinners may be eaten on site and takeouts are available.

WIN Program Set For Thursday

The next Women In Network program for the Small Business Development Center at Jamestown Community College will take place Thursday, March 11, at noon. The presentation will focus on “Marketing to Build Relationships and Capture New Clients.” The session will give participants five tools to help establish relationships and secure customers. Part of the conversation will include the benefits of utilizing free platforms vs. paid platforms in your marketing efforts. The speaker will be Delana Rupp, owner of Customized Management Strategies. Rupp has more than 20 years experience developing and fostering relationships and working with employers in the manufacturing, healthcare, retail, nonprofit, government and education sectors. Throughout her career she has focused on and is passionate about helping businesses get ahead. Much of this has centered on marketing initiatives and efforts that strengthen a product or service, create excitement around a concept and build trust with customers.

Rummage Sale To Be Held

LAKEWOOD — On May 20 and 21, a rummage and bag sale will take place at the Lakewood YWCA with all proceeds going to the George L. Barone Jr. Scholarship Fund. The Lakewood YWCA donated the location. Items are needed for the event, and those interested in helping are asked to send a message to upcloseandcaffeinated@gmail.com.

Class Of 1961 To Hold Reunion

The Jamestown High School class of 1961 will be celebrating its 60th reunion on Chautauqua Lake at the Lawson Boat Center and Camp Onyahsa on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 10 and 11.
