Legion Sets Holiday Dinner

The Herman Kent Post Legion on Saturday will be hosting a Valentine’s Day dinner from 5-8 p.m. The menu will include a steak and shrimp dinner for $20.99, and broiled seafood platter for $18.99. Dinners include one side, salad and dessert. The Post has seating for 125 people socially distanced.

Brookdale To Host Ice Sculptor

LAKEWOOD — Brookdale Lakewood, 220 Southwestern Blvd., Lakewood, will host an ice sculptor, Jared Chrispell of Jamestown Ice and Storage Inc., on Sunday starting at 10:30 a.m. Chrispell will carve at least two sculptures on site, one for each wing of the building. There will be lights placed under each sculpture to light them up after dark. All surrounding neighbors and friends are invited to Brookdale Lakewood. Face masks must be worn and social distancing observed. “We want to invite our neighbors and surrounding community to come and share the experience and enjoy this with us,” Brookdale Lakewood.

AOC To Ski Or Hike Sunday

Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club will ski/hike Tom Run Trail in Hearts Content in Warren County. The group will meet at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Musante Street or at Hearts Content at 2 p.m. Greg Burkett is the leader and can be reached at (814) 730-4686 for any questions.

County IDA To Meet Feb. 23

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23. The meeting will be held electronically via Live Stream on YouTube instead of a public meeting open for the public to attend in person. Members of the public may view the board meeting by visiting YouTube and searching “County of Chautauqua IDA.” Once on the webpage, viewers can click on “videos” to watch the live stream. Minutes of the meeting will transcribed and posted on the agency’s website, once approved by the board. The agenda for the meeting will be posted to ccida.com/.

Ellicott To Close Town Offices

FALCONER — The town of Ellicott is closing the administration building to the public until further notice. The public is asked to utilize the payment drop boxes outside the entrance. For appointments, call 665-5317.

Shrove Tuesday supper is set

The First United Methodist Church of Warren is holding a Shrove Tuesday pancake supper on Tuesday, Feb. 16, from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. in Founder’s Hall. The menu includes pancakes, sausage and applesauce. The cost is a donation and the event is take out only

Struthers Library To Host Poetry Reading Feb. 26

The Struthers Library Theater will host a poetry reading in Sally’s Encore Theatre Bar at 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26. The event will be free, but seating is limited, and tables are by reservation only. Featuring works by Maya Angelou, Langston Hughes, Angus Watkins, and more. The reading will take place before a screening of the film Selma at 7:30 p.m. Tickets for the film are $8 for adults and $6 for students and senior citizens over the age of 62.
