Chamber To Talk About Shopping
Chautauqua Sunrise, hosted by Doc Hamels, will have representatives from the Westfield-Barcelona Chamber of Commerce discussing local holiday shopping. The program is aired and streamed on Facebook live at 9 a.m. Saturday, then repeats at 2 and 8 p.m. Fresh Perspectives, hosted by Gail Erb, features Hope Winter and Noenan Knight from the College Lodge. The program airs at 3 and 9 p.m. Repeat programming is typically re-aired throughout the week at other various time slots. All programming starts on Saturday, November 21 with the final airing on Friday, Nov. 27. Access Chautauqua, formerly Access Channel 5, is available to cable viewers in the Chautauqua, Mayville, North Harmony, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, and Westfield areas, and can be found on cable channel 1301. The programs may also be viewed after the initial airing at the station’s website accesschautauquacountytv.org.
Blood Drive To Be Held Nov. 30 At UPMC
The Community Blood Bank will host a blood drive from 1 to 5 p.m. Monday, Nov. 30, at UPMC Chautauqua WCA, 207 Foote Ave., Jamestown. The Community Blood Bank has implemented precautionary measures that include all donors and staff members being required to wear masks, temperatures of all personnel at the blood collection location being taken prior to entering the blood drive, extra sanitation measures taken in between every donor and donors are to adhere to social distancing protocols. Individuals are eligible to give blood if it has been 56 days since their last donation; they are at least 17 years of age (16 with parental consent); weigh at least 110 pounds; have not received a tattoo or body piercing in the past three months; are in good general health and do not have a cold or the flu. Donors must have a valid photo ID in order to donate. Prior to donating, those giving blood should eat a good, solid meal and drink at least 18 ounces of water. City BPU Yard Waste Site Open Saturday
The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will open the yard waste site from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday to assist BPU solid waste customers in cleaning up properties after this week’s windstorm. The yard waste site is located at 1001 Monroe St., Jamestown. Yard waste stickers from both 2019-20 and 2021-22 will be accepted for entrance. The site had closed for the season, but the weekend storm resulted in many branches, sticks and twigs falling onto yards. The site will be open to accept residential customers’ storm debris.
Council To Hold Monday Meeting
The Jamestown City Council will hold a special meeting at 7 p.m. Monday via Zoom to discuss potential amendments to the 2021 executive budget.
Sewer Districts Admin. Board To Meet Dec. 1
