Church To Honor Veterans Today

Lighthouse Baptist Church, 381 Camp St., Jamestown, is hosting an event, “Honoring Our Vets,” at the church from 8:30-10 a.m. today. The church will have donuts and assorted drinks. Every veteran will receive a gift bag, and there will be a drawing for a gift basket.

Zoning Board Changes Its Meeting Location

LAKEWOOD — The location of the Lakewood Zoning Board of Appeals public hearing scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday has changed to 125 Chautauqua Ave. in Lakewood.

School Board Sets Sat. Meeting

SALAMANCA — The Salamanca City Central School Board will hold a special meeting on Saturday that will also include a retreat. It will be held at noon in the multi-purpose room at 50 Iroquois Drive.

Scouts To Hold Spaghetti Dinner

The Cub and Boy Scouts from Pack 219 and Troop 219 in Cassadaga will be holding their annual spaghetti dinner to honor veterans on Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. The dinner will be take-out only, as a drive-through event at Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave.. Pre-sale tickets are available from the scouts or at the American Legion; veterans dinners are free.

Quilters Guild To Hear Speaker

WESTFIELD — Westfield Quilters Guild will host Brenda Kirk as guest speaker at its monthly meeting on Saturday at the YWCA in Westfield. Coffee and visitation begins at 9:30 a.m. with the meeting to start at 10 a.m. Open sew and a new technique will follow in the afternoon after lunch. Kirk’s program will focus on the often-overlooked element of value in a design. The group will do several hands-on projects so participants will have reminders to take home. Supplies that would be helpful include paper scissors, pen or pencil, glue stick and, if anyone has one, a “ruby beholder.” Social distancing and masks are required by the YWCA.

Randolph Town Sets Open House

RANDOLPH — The town of Randolph will hold a public meeting and open house from 3-7 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 17, in the community room, 72 Main St., Randolph. The public is encouraged to attend and view plans for the Randolph Safe Routes to School Project. Face masks are required and social distancing will be observed.

Historical Society To Hold Meeting

FREWSBURG — The Carroll Historical Society will hold its final monthly meeting at 6:30 p.m. Monday at 5 W. Main St., Frewsburg, behind the town hall. Barb Cessna will be showing some artifacts donated this year. The end of the year dinner will not be held.. An update of the year will be the main discussion.

School Board To Meet Monday

BEMUS POINT — The Bemus Point Central School Board will meet Monday in the STEAM room at Maple Grove High School. Those attending are asked to use the gym entrance. A public hearing to discuss the district’s emergency response plan will take place at 5:45 p.m., followed by an executive session at 5:55 p.m. and the regular meeting at 6 p.m.

A limit of 50 people will be allowed for the meeting, with face masks and social distancing required. The meeting will also be streamed live.
