Harmony Seniors To Meet Thurs.

PANAMA — The Harmony Senior Citizens have scheduled a meeting on Thursday, Nov. 5, at 2 at the Panama United Methodist Church. Masks are required and social distancing is necessary. No food will be served but members may bring their own drink. Organizers are looking forward to seeing everyone.

JCC To Continue Offering Classes In Mixed Formats

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Jamestown Community College will continue offering courses in the safest, most flexible way possible to meet the needs of students. Courses will be offered in a mix of formats, both on- and off-campus, during the spring semester. To shorten the semester, classes begin on January 25 and a spring break has been eliminated. On-campus class sessions will begin after February 1. Additional guidelines regarding residence halls, the winter athletic season, and protocols for returning to campus in January are being developed. Advisement and registration for spring courses begins November 2. Courses can be viewed at sunyjcc.edu/courses.

Human Rights Commission To Meet Friday

The reconstituted Jamestown Human Rights Commission will hold its first meeting at 6 p.m. Friday at the Robert H. Jackson Center. The meeting is closed to the public because of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will be streamed live at www.jamestownny.gov/live. All public comments should be submitted in writing by 5 p.m. Thursday by mail or email to clerk@jamestownny.gov.

Virtual Silent Auction To Be Held In Nov.

Prevention Works Inc. will host a virtual silent auction starting at 8:30 a.m. Nov. 2 and running through 4:30 p.m. Nov. 20. The silent auction form can be found at forms.gle/wMtpj8fNL3H8j2zD6 or through Prevention Works’s website or Facebook page. Prevention Works will be offering a variety of items for auction, including office desks, chairs, filing cabinets, book shelves and printers. The highest bid for each item will win. Winners will be contacted on Monday, Nov. 23. Cash or checks made out to Prevention Works only. Winners will also be responsible for pick-up of items by Dec. 11. Outdoor Club Sets Hike For Minister Creek Trail

On Sunday, the Allegheny Outdoor Club will hike the Minister Creek trail. It is a 6.5-mile trail listed as moderate. The group will meet at Musante Street in Warren at 1 p.m. Greg Burkett is the leader and can be reached for questions at 814-723-4989.

Fire Department Auxiliary To Offer Take-Out Dinner

KIANTONE — The Kiantone Independent Fire Department Auxiliary is having an Election day Swiss steak dinner on Tuesday, Nov. 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. or sold out. Take-out orders only. The cost is an $11 donation. Pre-orders are appreciated by calling 664-5433.
