Marvin House Offering Meals For Pick Up

The Marvin House in Jamestown will be offering meals to be pick up Thursday between 3-4 p.m. The menu this week includes over roasted rosemary pork roast, apple sauce, carrots and parsnips, roasted potatoes, homemade bread and apple crisp. Train Rides Set For Saturday

The New York & Lake Erie Railroad is kicking off the season with a special “Birthday Train” on Saturday. Two train rides are scheduled departing at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. from Gowanda traveling to South Dayton. The station is located at 50 Commercial St., one-quarter mile east of Route 62 in Gowanda. The scenic train ride will be 2.5-hour round trip including a layover at the village of South Dayton where passengers may get off the train. Tickets are available at nylerailroad.com. Fares are $19 for adults, $17 for senior citizens (62 and older), and $15 for children ages 3 to 12. Lapsters (2 and under) may ride free. The ticket window is located at the train station and will be open at 10 a.m. Saturday. Passengers are asked to print off their tickets and bring the tickets with them for the trip.

Kayaking Trip Set By Outdoor Club

WARREN, Pa. — Members of the Allegheny Outdoor Club on Sunday will kayak at the Nebraska Bridge near Tionesta. The group will meet at Betts at 1 p.m. Gary Lester and Linda Ross will be the leaders. Contact Linda for any questions at (814) 688-5908.

GERRY — The Gerry Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 20, at the fire hall. Masks and social distancing will be required. New members are welcome to join. For further information contact Cherin Mehs at 985-4257.

Chicken Dinner Fundraiser To Be Held Oct. 29

The E2CCB Carrier Educational Center, 8685 Erie Road, Angola, will host a Chiavetta’s chicken dinner fundraiser on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 3-7 p.m. Dinners are $12 (cash or check) and include Chiavetta’s chicken, freshly baked rolls, salt potatoes, coleslaw and a cookie (produce sourced from locally-owned Kwilos Farms). Proceeds will benefit students involved in the ProStart and SkillsUSA programs.

County IDA Meeting Set

The Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 27. The meeting will be streamed live on the IDA’s YouTube page. Members of the public may view the meeting by searching “County of Chautauqua IDA” on YouTube. Minutes of the meeting will be transcribed and posted on the agency’s website once approved by the board.

Historical Society Ends Meeting Year

The Harmony Historical Society will not have any program meetings or business meetings for the rest of this year. Those who need to contact the group are asked to visit the historical society’s Facebook page or call 782-3074.
