Alternate Parking In City Begins On This Thursday

Effective Thursday, daily alternate parking will be in effect in the city of Jamestown. Vehicles must be parked on the odd-numbered side of the street on odd-numbered days and on the even-numbered side of the street on even-numbered days. Daily parking alternates beginning at 10 a.m. each day. There is no grace period, the Jamestown Police Department announced.

Lakewood Library Hours Changing

LAKEWOOD — Beginning Thursday, hours for the Lakewood Memorial Library will be Monday through Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Marvin House Is Providing Meals

The Marvin House in Jamestown will provide take-out meals Thursday, which will include three-bean salad, sweet and sour meatloaf, garlic roasted potatoes, glazed carrots, bread and apple cider cupcakes with brown sugar buttercream. Dinners will be pre-packaged and available between 3-4 p.m.

Gas Prices

Stable In City

Gas prices in Jamestown are stable this week at an average of $2.356, according to AAA East Central’s Gas Price Report. The average price during the week of Sept. 21 was $2.357, while the cost during the week of Sept. 30, 2019 was $2.858 The national gas price average is $2.18, which is the same price as last week, 5 cents lower than a month ago, and 47 cents cheaper than a year ago. On the week, most states saw gas prices decrease or fluctuate by a penny or two. At the close of Friday’s formal trading session, West Texas Intermediate decreased by 6 cents to settle at $40.25. Domestic crude prices declined due to increased market fears as coronavirus infections increase worldwide, which could impact crude demand. Before market fears emerged, there was some market optimism that domestic demand could be starting to stabilize after the EIA’s latest weekly report revealed that total domestic crude inventories decreased. Decreasing stocks could signal that supply and demand are rebalancing.

Spaghetti Dinner At Eastside

Fellowship

A drive-through spaghetti dinner will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday at Eastside Fellowship, 322 Woodlawn Ave., Jamestown. The spaghetti will be prepared by Joe Conti. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children; cash only.

Sewer Districts Will Meet Oct. 6

Fentonville UMC Hosts Picnic

FREWSBURG — Fentonville United Methodist Church is hosting a fall picnic Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 5 p.m. on the church grounds at 109 Old Fentonville Road, Frewsburg. All are invited and welcome to come and enjoy good food and live music around the campfire. Participants are asked to bring their own table service, and face mask.
