One Lane Of Traffic To Close On Steele Street

The Jamestown Board of Public Utilities will close one lane of traffic on Steele Street today to facilitate repair of a district heating leak. Employees will begin work at 4 a.m. on Steele Street between the Riverwalk Self-Storage and the east delivery A driveway of the BPU Operations Center.

Chicken Barbecue Set In Sherman

SHERMAN — Sherman Community Church will hold a chicken barbecue at 4 p.m. Saturday, rain or shine. The cost is $10, and meals can be picked up in a drive-through at the church parking lot.

Pajama Party To Be Held Over Zoom

The Girl Scouts of WNY will host a Zoom pajama party for girls in kindergarten through sixth grades from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday. The party is only for girls living in Western New York who are not currently registered Girl Scouts. Girls are invited to wear their pajamas and staff will host games, sing songs, have dancing, an activity and a scavenger hunt. TEA Party Patriots To Meet

The Southern Tier TEA Party Patriots will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Lakewood American Legion, 174 Chautauqua Ave. A major topic of discussion will cover the directive by President Donald Trump to ban critical race theory training sessions in offices of the federal government, including the US military. Also cultural Marxism as a relatively new form of Marxism will be covered. There will also be a follow-up to the informative discussion the county election commissioners shared last month on voting. The public is welcome to attend.

Prevention Works Holds Local Barbecue Events

Prevention Works’ annual Chiavetta’s chicken barbecues in Lakewood and Fredonia were both held recently, each selling more than 500 dinners. Money raised from the dinner will be used towards youth substance use prevention services throughout Chautauqua County. Antique Equipment Association Meeting Set

The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Ray Bulger Memorial Pavilion at the association’s club grounds. Members are encouraged to attend and bring a mask and jacket.
