CVCS Board To Meet Today

CASSADAGA — The Cassadaga Valley Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. today in the middle-high school multi-purpose room. Social distancing will be enforced.

Genealogical Society Meeting Venue Moved

The Chautauqua County Genealogical Society has changed the meeting venue due to COVID-19 restrictions and social distancing requirements. It will not be meeting in Fredonia. The Tuesday meeting will be at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280, 228 Maple Ave. in Cassadaga. Their phone is 595-3145. Todd Langworthy, Pomfret town historian, is the speaker. Meeting is at 6:30 p.m. speaker at 7. The Tuesday, Oct. 20, meeting will also be held at the Cassadaga American Legion Post 1280. Michelle Henry, county historian, is the speaker. The meeting is at 6:30 p.m. speaker at 7. Masks must be warn. Please watch for updated emails, check the website or information on the society’s Facebook pages, as changes may need to be made These meetings are open to the public. Limits may be placed on the number of entrants in the Legion Hall.

Kiwanis Club Chicken Barbecue Set

The Kiwanis Club of Falconer is having a chicken barbecue on Saturday, Oct. 3, at the Falconer Moose Lodge from 5 to 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 each and are now on sale through Sept. 24 from any member of the Kiwanis Club of Falconer, Ellicott Town Clerk’s Office, Gaylene’s and the Falconer Moose Club. No tickets will be sold at the door. Dinners will be take- out only. Proceeds benefit Kiwanis service leadership programs at Falconer Central Schools including Terrific Kids, Key Club, Builders Club, K Kids and Key Leader. Kiwanis International is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time. Kiwanis and its youth-oriented Service Leadership Programs serve communities in more than 80 countries and geographic areas. New members are welcome. School Board To Meet Today

PANAMA — The Panama Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Monday in the school gymnasium. The public is invited to view the meeting. Visit www.pancent.org for link to view meeting.

South Main Street To Be Closed To Traffic

The Jamestown Department of Public Works said starting at 5 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 16, South Main Street, between the Arterial and First Street, will be closed to traffic for most of the day. South Main Street is anticipated to open by late Wednesday afternoon. Motorists should use alternate routes and expect delays. On Thursday, Sept. 17, motorists should expect delays while the traffic department puts striping down. For additional information, contact the DPW Office at 483-7545.

Town Board To Hold Workshops

The Ellicott Town Board will hold budget workshops at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall Building on the following days: Monday, Tuesday and Monday, Sept. 28. The public is welcome to attend.
