Barbecue Set Saturday

Russell United Methodist Church will hold a drive-through chicken barbecue starting at 4 p.m. Saturday. A $10 donation serves up a half-chicken, home-made baked beans, macaroni salad and brownies. Proceeds benefit the Ministry Center.

Neighbor Signs For Sale

It is not too late to request a “You Are Loved! sign for someone you love. Love INC’s Love Your Neighbor Campaign will continue throughout the month of September. Love INC is a non-profit organization who assists neighbors in need. To request signs and more information, go to www.LoveINCSCC.org, email loveyourneighborwithloveinc@gmail.com to request a form or stop at the Love INC office at 553 W. Third St., Jamestown, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Each sign costs $15.

Historical Society Meeting Tues.

BLOCKVILLE — The annual meeting of the Harmony Historical Society will be Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. The meeting will be a short meeting and election of officers. The group will meet outside, no refreshments will be served. Plans are being finalized for the Sept. 19 yard sale, quilt show and Panama Fire Department Chicken Barbecue. Donations for the yard sale can be dropped off at the museum on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The yard sale will benefit the historical society. Three quilts are available for the ticket drawing with three winners drawn. Tickets are available from members, at the quilt sale and also are available at North Harmony and Harmony town offices. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed. Social distancing and masks will be in effect.

County IDA To Meet Sept. 22

Chautauqua County Industrial Development Agency board of directors will meet at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22. The meeting will be streamed live on YouTube. Members of the public may view the meeting by visiting YouTube and searching “County of Chautauqua IDA.” Once on the webpage, viewers can click on “videos” to watch the live stream. Minutes of the meeting will transcribed and posted on the agency’s website, once approved by the board. The Chautauqua Region Economic Development Corporation will meet following the IDA meeting.

RTPI Hosts Book Sale, Sept. 19

The Roger Tory Peterson Institute will host a sale Saturday, Sept. 19, and Sunday, Sept. 20, featuring artwork, books, and other merchandise from the institute’s Snowy Owl Museum Store. Visitors will receive a 30% discount on artwork and prints, and a 50% discount on dozens of book titles included in the sale. Proceeds from RTPI’s “Empty the Nest” sale will support art, education and conservation programs. Regular admission applies to view current exhibitions. Masks and social distancing regulations are being enforced.

Ripley School Board Meets

RIPLEY — The Ripley Central School Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, in the cafeteria at Ripley Central School. Social distancing will be practiced and masks must be worn.
