Historical Society Yard Sale Set

BLOCKVILLE — The Harmony Historical Society has cancelled its annual harvest festival due to COVID-19, but is having a yard sale from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at its grounds in Blockville. Items can be donated from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. any Tuesday before the sale. Proceeds benefit the historical society. Additionally, the society is having a quilt show and sale during the yard sale. Benefit winners can choose one of three hand-quilted quilts while other items will be for sale as well. The Panama Fire Department will serve a chicken barbecue starting at noon until gone. Take-out orders only. COVID-19 guidelines will be followed, with mask-wearing and social distancing in effect.

SWCS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school multi-purpose room. Those who wish to attend are asked to contact the district clerk by 6 p.m. Tuesday at 484-1137 or psagurney@swcsk12.org to make arrangements.

Rod And Gun Auxiliary Meeting Canceled

The Lakewood Rod and Gun Auxiliary Board did not meet Sept. 10. The auxiliary membership’s monthly meeting scheduled for today has also been canceled due to the COVID-19 regulations. The remainder of the 2020 schedule will be announced. The women who worked on the distribution of membership cards to the Rod and Gun Club paid members are thanked.

Library Board To Host Online

Workshop Thurs.

The James Prendergast Library board will hold an online workshop to discuss trustee options available to public libraries in New York. The workshop is Thursday at 5:15 p.m. The public may listen to the workshop from their computer, tablet, or smartphone at global.gotomeeting.com/join/526696061. The public may submit questions to the board by Wednesday at 6 p.m. by around 1 p.m. Residency requirements of James Prendergast Library Association board members, election of board members or becoming a school district public library. Questions can be submitted to reference@prendergastlibrary.org. The questions will be compiled and presented at the meeting for discussion.

Breast Cancer Support Group To Meet

The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Celoron American Legion. Face masks are required to come in. Pink light bulbs are available in several local stores, including the Ashville General Store, the Dutch Village in Sherman, Crouch’s Garage in Panama, Farm Fresh Foods on West Third Street, Jamestown, Falconer Vac Shoppe, or by calling Pat Carr at 665-4343. The price is $4 each.

Lot Owners’ Meeting Set Sept. 28

SINCLAIRVILLE — The annual lot owners’ meeting of the Sinclairville Evergreen Cemetery Association will be held on Monday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. in the Sinclairville Fire Hall. Two trustees will be determined. CDC guidelines will be observed.
