County Bridge To Be Temporarily Closed To Traffic

County Bridge 1029 on 28 Creek Road in the town of Ellington, between Dean School Road and Woolcot Road, will be temporarily closed to all traffic effective Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. No detour will be posted.

JPS Board Of Education Will Meet Tuesday

Blood Drive To Be Held At Chautauqua Mall

LAKEWOOD — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at the Chautauqua Mall, 318 Fairmount Ave., Lakewood. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop Begins Summer Sale

St. Luke’s Thrift Shop, 409 Pine St. between East Fourth and East Fifth streets in Jamestown, begins a summer clearance sale. This includes half-price ladies tops, capris, slacks and dresses; men’s shirts, blazers and suits for $1 and baseball hats for 50 cents. Face coverings are required in the thrift store. Enter on Pine Street, exit to church parking lot. Off street parking is available in the church lot off East Fifth Street. Current hours are Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Ashville Free Library To Host Book Sale

ASHVILLE — The Ashville Free Library will host a book sale Aug 14, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Aug. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hardcovers will cost $1 and paperbacks 50 cents. There will be a $5 bag Sale on Saturday. Face coverings and social distancing will be required. The library is located at 2200 N. Maple St. in Ashville. For more information, call 763-9906.
