Cassadaga Valley School District To Hold Meeting

The Cassadaga Valley Central School District will hold its annual re-organizational meeting and regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Monday. The public may attend using the Zoom link posted on the district’s website.

Interfaith Lecture To Be Held Today

CHAUTAUQUA — Today’s featured lectures for Chautauqua Institution’s Week Two Interfaith Lecture theme, “Forces that Shape Our Daily Lives: The Contemporary Search for Spirituality,” is Rabbi Jeffrey Salkin examines reclaiming the spiritual meaning of Jewish ritual. Salkin produces his award-winning blog, “Martini Judaism: for those who want to be shaken and stirred,” published by the Religion News Service, and serves as the senior rabbi of Temple Solel in Hollywood, Florida. Assembly online began with a beta test version launched on June 22, with the testing phase continuing through August 31, allowing guests to sign up for a 90-day free trial at chq.org/2020-assembly. SWCS Board To Meet Tuesday

The Southwestern Central School Board of Education will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the high school multipurpose room. Those who want to attend must call Pam SaGurney, district clerk, at 484-1137 or email psagurney@swcsk12.org by 6 p.m. Tuesday to make arrangements.

Alexander Is Featured Lecturer To Speak Today

Marcus To Speak On Supreme Court Today

CHAUTAUQUA — Ruth Marcus speaks on the Supreme Court in the annual Robert H. Jackson Lecture on the Supreme Court of the United States at 3:30 p.m. today through CHQ Assembly. Marcus oversees The Washington Post’s signed opinion content and is a highly acclaimed reporter who has covered the Supreme Court, the White House and Congress. She is the author of the new book Supreme Ambition: Brett Kavanaugh and the Conservative Takeover. The program is produced in partnership with Jamestown’s Robert H. Jackson Center.
